An Official Member of the Non-Official 'Got Too Much Stuff Club' (Okay, well maybe there isn't such a thing as the 'Got Too Much Stuff Club' but if there were I'd be a charter member) After a gazillion years of collecting, the 'declutterification' [say that ten times fast :-)] process has begun!! For your consideration, an issue of 'Toy Trains Magazine' December 1952 Vol. 2 No. 2 Some of the articles within: Christmas Under The Tree A Gondola for Beginners ...and much more FAIR WARNING: This magazine has issues! ALL the pages have separated. The paper has yellowed with age and become brittle as well. Unlike 'Model Railroader' which was printed on glossy stock, 'Toy Trains' magazine was printed on a heavy newspaper stock and nearly every issue I've come across has yellowed with age as a result. The magazine does NOT exhibit a fold down the middle (a quite common occurence as they were originally folded and stuffed into mailboxes). This issue contains a 3-color cut-out: white, black and red. It also contains a backdrop meant to be taken out and colored in by the user, however the top and bottom portions of the backdrop are separated. There were a total of three or four of these panels which, when placed side-to-side, formed a continuos picture. OK, the good side. Because the pages are separated the cut-out will be easier to scan if it's the cut-out you're after. 'Toy Trains' was only produced as a stand-alone magazine from 1951 to 1954 after which Carstens Publications rolled it into 'Railroad Model Craftsman'. Modeler Tips: For those of you who have never assembled these cut-outs, first scan the picture into your computer, then print them out on heavy cardstock. Next brace the interiors with 1/4" square or larger balsawood/basswood and glue together. Many of the cut-out buildings in 'Toy Trains' magazine, like this one, did not come with roofs. Black or gray craft paper, shingle material made specifically for model structures, or fine grit sandpaper are all options for constructing your roof. . I accept Paypal, Money Order, or Personal Checks. Payment must be received no later than 10 days after auction end. Personal checks must wait 2 weeks to clear. Insurance is an option however, if Insurance is not purchased I cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged packages. I will combine orders to save on shipping. Happy Bidding! :
