Christie's New York, Important 20th Century Decorative Arts. New York, Saturday, March 28, 1989. Softcover, 250 lots, 144 pp. Illustrated in Color and BW. Includes list of prices realized. You are bidding on a Decorative Arts catalog from an auction at Christie's, New York in March 1989. The catalog features works from a number of distinguished collections, including that of: Dr. James Harvey Stubblebine. The majority of the lots are depicted with high-quality color and BW photographic plates printed on heavy-stock paper. There is also a two-page bibliography in the front of the catalog. Highlights of the catalog include: An Inscribed Rene Paul Chamberllan Nickel Art Deco Relief of a Mermaid, A Signed Emile Galle Monumental Quintuple Overlaid Glass Vase, An inscribed Rene Lalique Opalescent Glass Vase "Oran," A Jean E. Puiforcat Silver-Plated Metal and Marble Clock from c. 1932, A Pair of Edgar Brandt Wrought-Iron and Glass Doors Produced for a Villa on the Piazza D'Espana in Rome from c. 1929, An Edgar Brandt Wrought-Iron, Bronze and Markble Table, A Tiffany Studios "Hanging Head Dragonfly" Leaded Glass and Bronze Table Lamp, A Rare Tiffany Studios "Dragonfly and Waterflowers Leaded Glass and Bronze Table Lamp, An Important Tiffany Studios Flower form Favrile Glass Vase previously in the collections of Lillian Nassau and David Geffen. And there is much more. Condition: My copy of this catalog is used, but in very good condition, overall. The binding is tight, both covers and all interior pages are intact. The interior pages have no creases or tears. A previous owner has written prices in the margins of several of the pages. The writing does not interfere with the legibility of the text or the images. There is a slight bend to the front cover, which will probably straighten out if the catalog is stored properly. There is also minor evidence of wear to the edges ends of the covers spine. My copy contains the list of prices realized, which will be included with the catalog. Note: It would have been impossible for me to have scanned any of the interior pages of this catalog without altering its condition. The picture that I have used is from the front cover and shows a detail of: A Jean Dupas Pencil and Charcoal Maguette for The Chariot of Thetis Etched Glass Mural in the Grand Salon of the Oceanliner Normandie from c. 1934 (Lot # 158).
